Accessibility Statement
At Saint + Vale, we believe great design should be inclusive design. We are committed to making our website usable for everyone, including customers with disabilities, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time checklist.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and widely recognized as the benchmark for digital accessibility. These guidelines define how to make web content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological differences.
What we've done
We have taken specific steps to make saintandvale.com accessible, including:
- Providing descriptive alternative text for product imagery and key visual elements so customers using screen readers can understand what's on the page
- Maintaining color contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA standards for text and interactive elements
- Structuring our site with proper heading hierarchy and semantic HTML to support assistive technology navigation
- Ensuring our checkout, account, and contact flows can be completed using only a keyboard
- Labeling all form fields clearly so they're announced correctly by screen readers
- Designing our site to remain usable when zoomed up to 200%
- Testing across common assistive technologies as part of our ongoing review process
Compatible technology
Our site is designed to be compatible with the most recent versions of the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver
- Screen magnification software
- Voice recognition software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking
- Keyboard-only navigation
The site works best with the latest two versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on both desktop and mobile devices.
Third-party content
Saint + Vale's website includes some content and functionality provided by third parties — including payment processors, customer reviews, and embedded media. While we work to select partners who share our commitment to accessibility, we do not control these third-party tools directly and cannot guarantee their full conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. If you encounter a barrier in any third-party content on our site, please let us know and we will work with the relevant provider to address it.
Known limitations and ongoing work
We recognize that accessibility is a continuous process and that some elements of our site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and address any gaps, and we welcome feedback from customers who encounter barriers.
Specifically, we are currently working to improve:
- Alternative text coverage across our full product catalog as new items are added
- Color contrast on legacy pages and promotional templates
- Keyboard focus indicators on interactive components
Alternative ways to shop
If you experience any difficulty accessing content or completing a purchase on our website, we want to help. Our customer service team can assist with:
- Placing an order on your behalf
- Describing product details, materials, sizing, or imagery
- Walking through return or exchange requests
- Providing information from any page of our site in an alternative format
